SpyLite – open source flash lite security application

The Application - SpyLite

SpyLite @ http://code.google.com/p/spylite/

I very happy to release this application as a open source initiative to flash lite development. I have been thinking of this ever since i got my hands on flash. flash lite was not this hot then :) . I had thought of alternative platforms but then it wouldn’t be that easily accessible. But with Red5 it had become a compulsion more than a requirement to get this thing out.

event though the flash lite 3.1 distributable solution was dropped, flash lite will still grow beyond imagination in its forthcoming versions and via existing flash lite 3.0 / 3.1 phones.

The SpyLite Application has two modules.

1. The AIR Client which is responsible for streaming the camera to the rtmp application. The air client is currently in alpha so i don’t provide dynamic file names yet for sync problems with phone. Currently the only stream name being published is “red5″. You can change the rtmp locations though. more features to come soon including auto motion detection and remote control via flash lite client (thats the one i am after :) )

2. The Flash lite client which runs on phones supporting flash lite 3.0 /3.1 , however please check with device manufacturer for surety. The flash lite client is made on a reusable multi screen management method developed in oops. The client is set to fixed rtmp location: “http://localhost/oflaDemo” and fixed stream name : “red5″. Both can be changed from the source which is freely available at http://code.google.com/p/spylite/.

And about the “reusable multi screen management”  - that will be another chapter i guess  :)  This would also be useful to those who want to know how to stream a live cam feed onto a flash lite phone.
